Keith Tucker: Keith is now an Independent Contractor living in Bend, Oregon, "Acacia North". He's still very active with Africa groups and other travel opportunities you may be interested in. Call Acacia Travel for contact details.

Dick North: Dick retired from teaching in 1998 but he's had his hand in the travel business well before that. Knowing there was a deep well to tap within his longtime circle of fishing friends, Dick jumped into the Acacia pool of outside sales agents in 1992 and has since led numerous trips into Baja in search for the "big one," as well as some good camaraderie to boot. His penchant for appreciating the fine wines of Napa and Sonoma led him to vintage discoveries abroad with his wife Kay; some of their favorite trails lead through Burgundy, Chianti and Champagne. When not traveling in search of the perfect grape amid the perfect landscape, you can find him on many a diamond playing tournament softball in San Diego and beyond. Four daughters and six grandchildren are always reason enough to return and enjoy the good life at home.

Marilyn Nunn: Marilyn came to Acacia in 1996 as an Independent Contractor. Her travels have covered every continent except Africa and Antarctica. Her favorite places are Great Britan, Europe, Alaska and New Zealand, and she has been to the first three many times. She loves doing customized tours for "The Fun Bunch", as an annual Theatre Tour to London and the Wine Country in northern California. This group has done trips to the Monterey Penninsula, Santa Barbara, Branson, New York, Seattle and the Canadian Rockies. The only requirement to travel with the "Fun Bunch" is you have to have fun! She has also cruised extensively on Princess as well as Seabourn, SilverSeas, Crystal, Holland America, Crown and Regency. Some of her favorite destinations on cruises have been the Greek Isles and The Black Sea, The Mediterranean, Alaska, Australia/New Zealand, Scandinavia/Russia and South America.

Vicki Vaughn-Fahey: Vicki has recently returned to San Diego's Point Loma after living 20 years in Australia! While in Australia, she traveled extensively throughout the country as well as New Zealand and many of the South Pacific Islands. She was involved in the travel industry there and was able to take advantage of many offers to travel in Asia as well.

Cruising is her first love after having the opportunity to sail on the QE2 five times in the So. Pacific and Asia. Other cruise destinations have been the Mexican Riviera (several times), Caribbean, Alaska on Holland America Line and Cruise West, as well as land tours in this beautiful destination. One of her favorite cruise trips was with Tauck Discovery Tours on their riverboat, Swiss Emerald, between Budapest and Amsterdam - 15 days of bliss!!!

Windstar Cruises is another favorite, whether sailing in the Med, Europe, or the Greek Islands, Vicki is happy to talk about her adventures sailing between Nice and Barcelona on the beautiful, sleek yacht - Windsurf. She has lead many group tours to various destinations in the world, so if you are looking to arrange a group of your friends to a destination of your choice, please give her a call for her assistance. If you have been thinking of going "Down Under," or perhaps would like a small ship cruise experience anywhere in the world - or, perhaps a lovely cruise on the new Cunard "Queen Victoria," or another cruise line, don't hesitate to contact Vicki for her professional assistance.

Jan Morton: Jan graduated from San Diego State College in 1956. She was a stay-at-home-mom during her early days, raising a family. With her husband, in 1969 she helped to establish the Brigantinve chain of restaurants, and worked with that through 1983.

She was always interested in far-away places, and in the late 1970s, she went back to college to take Travel Business classes, learning how to "write airline tickets" (which goes back a long time!). She has toured around the USA, Mexico, Costa Rica, Britain, Europe, the Near East, the Far East, and Middle East.

She has enjoyed cruising in Alaska, Mexico, Caribbean, Bermuda, the Greek Islands and Panama Canal. She's now been in the travel business since 1978, mostly as an independent contractor. She joined us here in Acacia Travel in 2003, and is still fascinated with the far away places and learning and sharing information with her clients and associates.

José (Joe) Baptista: Joe was born in Lisbon, Portugal. After graduating from college in his native city of Lisbon he embraced the hospitality, travel and tourism industry, Joe worked in Jersey Island, UK and Madeira Island, Portugal. In the United States Joe, was owner-manager of SUN Travel in East Providence, Rhode Island, he sold the business in 1985 and moved to California.

Joe co-owned and managed SUN Travel in San Diego and a small tour operator SUN Vacations, specializing in the Iberian Peninsula accommodations featuring the Pousadas in Portugal and the Paradores in Spain. Joe has traveled extensively and brings his travel experiences to his many clients, providing personalized arrangements according to their time frame and budget.

Joe joined Acacia Travel in October 2007  and he will be delighted to assist you with your vacation dreams and travel arrangements to be fulfilled above and beyond your expectations.

Evelyn Hartley: I graduated from Point Loma High School and San Diego State University and my teaching career began with working with mentally challenged to helping plan the first gifted classroom in San Diego Elementary schools. During that time my husband, Ken and I shared the challenge and opportunity of being “Mom and Dad” to his 4 orphaned nieces. Our travels began in a converted VW bus and later he converted a school bus for our Mexico beach camping trips. This began with four and grew to forty families over many holiday weekends!

One day I thought there might be a more comfortable way to see the world. I went to travel school, began work at an agency in 1972 and many of you know the rest of the story. Some of my journeys have included a trip “Around the World” on Singapore Airlines Stop over Holidays; cruised the Rhine with Lindblad Expeditions and even sailed with Crystal Cruises, Silverseas and on land with Globus and Tauck World Discovery Tours to name a few. It is impossible to say what I like most, the sapphire blue water of Crater Lake; Dutch Spring Tulips or the “Full Moon” as we sailed aboard Windstar Cruises from Venice to Rome. Not to mention the stained glass windows at Chartres Cathedral or wrapped up in a blanket on deck at “dawns early light” as we sailed into New York harbor and seeing the Statue of Liberty for the very first time.

I so enjoy working at Acacia Travel. If I haven’t been to a destination, another agent quickly shares his or her knowledge and expertise and this enables our clients to get the most current information about their planned journey.

Perhaps my greatest pleasure came when a couple came home from their 25th Wedding Anniversary trip to Italy and called me to say “We loved Italy” and “We fell in love all over again”! I had also planned their honeymoon!

Roxie Seales: CTC is a Certified Travel Counselor and has been in the business longer than she cares to remember. It has been a journey through years of fascinating travel by all types of transportation.

She has visited all 50 states including Alaska and Hawaii (many times) as well as escorting tours to Canada and Mexico. Additionally, visits include travel to the Far East and the South Pacific islands.

For several years she lived in England and traveled everywhere in the United Kingdom researching all the little villages from Lands End to the very top of Scotland. She became a SCOTSmaster with study at the University of Glasgow and is also a certified BRITAgent. She has traveled extensively throughout Europe including Russia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Scandinavia, Ireland etc.. The European Tour Operators Association selected her to represent US travel agents at a seminar in Greece to help promote Europe as a Tour Destination. Her specialty is designing independent tours or finding the right escorted tour for each individual client.

Cruises have played a large part in her travel career having sailed on many of the Princess ships, Holland America Line, RCCL, Celebrity, Cunard (both cruising and on the QE2 transatlantic) and more ships that are long in the past such as Sitmar and Matson Line. Recently she cruised the Rhone and Soane Rivers in France and is now VERY enthusiastic about river cruising and small ships. However she loves selling cruises to ANYWHERE. "It is the perfect relaxation"

Janet Hunt Gunning: Janet joined Acacia Travel in February of 2008. She is another Point Loman and graduate of Point Loma High School. She has over 18 years experience in the travel industry. Working part-time in her senior year of high school at a travel agency sparked her interest in joining the travel industry. After graduating from college, she worked for PSA, UsAir and United Airlines in Sales and Marketing. Although Janet has been busy the last several years being a full-time Mom, she is back in business and ready to help plan your next vacation.
