Panama-Much More Than The Canal
March 16 - 25, 2010
The
conquistadors knew that Panama was a narrow isthmus. They transported the gold
plundered from the Incas on a trail that still exists. Travel that trail by
train to visit Portobelo, haunt of pirates and treasure. Visit the Kuna
Indians, famous for their molas. Learn the secrets of the rain forest on the
renowned Pipeline Path where birds and nature will enchant. Explore coffee
plantations and gardens in the Switzerland of Panama. Walk the Quetzales Trail
looking for the elusive Quetzal, as well as many other birds. Of course, we won’t
miss the Canal but we’ll do it on a small boat, and see the workings of the
canal on land.
